We experienced this long before 2004, though.

I appreciate any help especially if you've resolved this issue in your environment.ĮDIT: Found this thread which gives me tons of hope at least (this shit has been 3+years). Could just be some connection hiccup and that's why it's random but I don't know how to dive any deeper into this. I have experienced it in my own client on a couple occasions. This is probably the only thing I could read into further:.I see one error code of 15003 around the time the user reported a freeze, Google didn't return much for this. Not much I can gain from reading the troubleshooting logs that I turned on.Users machines aren't being taxed, performance is fine, processor and memory are in low use.Turned off animations in advanced options.Turned off hardware acceleration, turned on compatibility view.Removed excess folders and moved them out of the Inbox so they are no longer child folders (one actual recommendation from Microsoft).Users don't have multiple accounts or shared mailboxes in their client.

Sometimes it goes away on it's own, sometimes I solve it by deleting the user's OST and re-creating, sometimes I just say screw it and provide them a new machine (after wiping the old machine, the next assigned user doesn't usually complain). I've tried to include as many variables as possible to nail this down. I've been dealing with this off and on for over 3 years and it pops up every few months. I can't pinpoint it to any certain action or event, or any certain computer configuration, mail volume, mail rules, ANYTHING. Edit: if anyone comes across this and has the same issue, we fixed it by disabling attachment preview for the affected users: įor some small amount of users, Outlook freezes and says "Not responding" at random.
